Hello music lover!

This month I have a confession to make.  "Sex and the City" is one of my favorite shows.  There.  I said it.  Like many women, I have even taken 'the quiz' to find out which character my personality most resembles.  I appear to be a combination of Carey (the writer) and Miranda (the lawyer).

If I had a show -- let's call it "SAX and the City" -- the first episode might go something like this:

(tapping away at laptop computer)
While seeking inspiring concerts to attend among the sea of spring music festivals, smooth jazz cruises and major club listings, I couldn't help but wonder...

"Where are all of the women instrumentalists hiding?"

I believe that any change in the world begins with me.  So this month I'm offering my support of women in the music business by adding three new female faces to my website's Hall of Fame.
1) my sax comrade Mindi Abair, GRP smooth jazz breakout artist
2) quirky and talented singer/songwriter Lauren Wood, writer of the hit song "Fallen" from the Pretty Woman Soundtrack
3) my good friend Beth Marlis, head honcho at GIT (the Guitar Institute of Technology) in Hollywood.

I've been in this business long enough to know it's challenges.  What's a girl to do?  As I told Stacy Trevenon during my recent interview for the Half Moon Bay Review newspaper, "This is my gift, the craft I have honed all my life, and the only thing I can do is to keep doing it. Keep putting it out there. It's my contribution to the world."

So, I'm delighted to have these upcoming opportunities to play for you!
