Hello Music Lover!

LOVE can be so complicated. Perhaps it really is just a dirty trick played on us to ensure continuation of the species. Nevertheless, how happy and satisfied we are in life seems directly correlated to how well we express love and recognize that we are loved.

Dr. Gary Chapman's book,
The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts, reveals that learning the right love language of those we care about can bring joy back into all of our relationships. Which of these universal expressions of love do you favor? Which speaks loudest to your beloved?

Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Acts of Service
Physical Touch
Giving/ Receiving Gifts

Giving the gift of music is MY favorite love language. To me, performing passionate LIVE music is like giving a box of chocolates; it's irresistibly delicious, gives you a sweet high and leaves you craving more. Offering quality RECORDED music is like giving precious jewelry; the fine craftsmanship reveals a depth of beauty that can be enjoyed over and over again.

Today, my gift to you is musical jewelry! Here is a brand new song called
Crystal Clear that I recorded for my good friend Andre Berry, one of the world's funkiest bassists:

Andre Berry's third solo CD, Off the Beat 'n' Path (January 2010), is intended to please smooth jazz audiences, but at the same time, to step off that pathway and take some real chances. Musical contributors include keyboardist Mitch Forman, guitarist Jackson Allen, pianist Brian Simpson, and saxophonists Jeff Kashiwa and yours truly. Andre played bass with my LA original contemporary jazz band until I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, and he currently tours with such artists as Dave Koz, Mindi Abair, and Chris Botti.

And now some musical chocolate for my local friends!

If you must dump me by clicking to be removed from this list, at least I'll know I was loved for a little while (sniff... wink).
