Julian Lage

My former Berklee College of Music professor, Gary Burton, is known for recognizing prodigious young talent and creating exciting collaborations that provide exposure for these budding artists. Burton's 2004 recording Generations, as well as his 2005 release Next Generation, both feature contributions by guitarist Julian Lage, who has also received recognition by such artist as Herbie Hancock and Bela Fleck. 

When I met Julian after his performance at my favorite local venue, the Bach Dancing & Dynamite Society in Half Moon Bay, I had no idea that he was just 15 years old. But I was clear that he is an amazingly gifted musician with a huge future ahead of him. Keep your eyes and ears on this guy!
